10 years after Serial

I can hardly believe it, but it's true: it's been 10 years since Sarah Koenig revolutionized the podcasting world with the release of "Serial."

Back then, I was in college, and my growing awareness of storytelling techniques allowed me to appreciate "Serial" on a deeper level. It was journalism, yet it defied my preconceived notions of what journalism could be. It was different—more engaging, more narrative-driven.

I remember printing out a map, meticulously marking every clue Sarah Koenig mentioned, and waking up in the middle of the night just to catch the latest episode.

You know that phrase people use about a book they love? The one where they wish they could forget it just to experience it anew? That's exactly how I feel about "Serial."

Listening to it now might seem mundane, given the amount of excellent podcasts that have emerged since. But oh, how that iconic piano intro triggers a Pavlovian response in me. Every time I hear it, my brain instantly switches to detective mode.
